BEDWYN HISTORY SOCIETY

Welcome.

Founded in 1995, Bedwyn History Society (BHS) is dedicated to the promotion of interest and awareness of the history of the Wiltshire Villages of Great Bedwyn and Little Bedwyn otherwise known as ‘The Bedwyns” and their surrounding areas.

We meet every second Wednesday of the month between September and May, at 7:30pm to hear a talk from an invited speaker, at the Village Hall, Frog Lane, Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire.

We welcome visitors to our meetings for a small fee of £5 per meeting, or you can join our Society with an annual membership of £15, which entitles you to free entry to the talks as well as newsletters. There may be a charge for organised visits.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday February 11th 2026 at the Bedwyn Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm.

Our presenter on February 11th will be Nick Baxter, a historian with a particular interest in the people and places of Wiltshire. His subject will be ‘Marlborough be Gaslight in the Victorian Age’.
